Lascombes 1992

Chateau Lascombes

This wine's medium ruby color and ripe curranty fruit intertwined with scents of cedar are initially pleasing, but the dilution is apparent in the mouth where the tannin and wood dominate the wine's meager fruit. Perhaps more depth will emerge with aging, but it appears this wine should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. *** This property has begun turning out better wines, as both the 1991 and 1992 attest. The 1992 is sweeter and riper than the 1991, with a lovely bouquet of flowers and jammy, berry fruit. The wine is medium-bodied, with fine depth and balance, and a round, gentle finish. It should be drunk over the next 4-5 years.
